Charlie Grubb, Managing Director

Having worked for 2 large corporates, Computer People for 15 years as a Director of their Permanent business and TMP for 3 years as a Regional Director for their UK business, Firstperson is an exciting and different company.

I joined Firstperson to grow a business that encapsulates all the good things I have experienced in my career, so far. Uppermost I would like to continue to develop Firstperson as a lead thinking business that provides clients and candidates with experts who can deliver a personal and efficient service. For our consultants to enjoy the ideas / projects that they / we deliver.

During my time with Firstperson I believe we have made some great progress, and I am looking forward to further strengthening Firstperson’s reputation within the market place.

On the home front I enjoy sport and still manage to play cricket, squash and more recently real tennis, and I am more than happy to discuss the whys and wherefores of the England teams over a beer or fine red wine. In recent years I have come to realise that my future sporting talent lies in the hands of my two sons and daughter.

Steve Bilsborough, Senior Consultant

Steve is a Managing Consultant at Firstperson, handling searches for key people in the Technology and HR markets.

Prior to joining Firstperson in November 2006, Steve was Business Development Manager for a leading Recruitment Process Outsourcing company, implementing large scale managed recruitment solutions in blue chips. This followed 10 years in technology recruitment, after an early stint in IT operations.

Outside of Firstperson, Steve is Chairman of community radio station Glastonbury FM, a not for profit organisation based in the town.

David Willcock, Senior Consultant

Leading our Banking Team, I manage searches in the Retail Banking and Direct Operations, where I bring almost 9 years of relevant industry experience to Firstperson.

Prior to beginning my Executive Search career I recruited Accounting & Finance professionals for Michael Page International, predominantly within Financial Services. Before recruitment I worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group where I spent 7 years in Retail Banking.

Out of the office I like to be active and spend much of my free time outdoors. Most weekends I play Airsoft, which is a team sport very similar to paintball but much more fun! When not running around woodlands I pursue my life-long passion for history and historical sites, or can be found trying to improve my golf.

Laura Belfield, Head of Research Function

Heading up our Research Team, I joined the business in June 2006. I have worked within Executive Search for 7+ years having honed my skills working for a leading manufacturing consultancy recruiting Senior Level talent across the UK and Europe.

Along with my team, I am tasked with the identification and sourcing of individuals across all areas of our business. Through my years working within Executive Search I have developed extensive networks allowing me to uncover and engage with individuals who have expertise relevant to our clients' briefs.

Living in the South West is not all work and no play; in the brief time I manage away from work I enjoy Scuba Diving (having previously worked as an Instructor) and mountain biking and take the opportunity to escape to the beach whenever possible.
